The Power of Feng Shui & Manifesting in Interior Design
As an interior designer, I know that functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces have the power to elevate mood, foster connection, and bring a sense of peace. But what if I told you your home could do more than that? That it could support your personal and business goals, reflect your deepest intentions, and help you manifest the life you truly want?
This is where Feng Shui comes in.
I studied in the Black Sect School of Feng Shui twenty-five years ago and was astonished to learn the parallels and dissimilarities in our industry and the application of this ancient Chinese philosophy.
Feng Shui is far more than furniture placement—it’s the art of aligning your environment with your energy. It’s about flow, intention, and resonance. When I apply Feng Shui principles to my design practice, I’m not just curating a visual aesthetic—I’m helping clients create a space that supports their soul.
Every object, color, and layout choice has energy. For example, we have all seen the tired chair in the corner that no one sits in? It’s holding space—literally and energetically—for something better. And the cluttered closet which could be blocking more than light and air—it might be blocking opportunity.
If we employ a mindful design aesthetic, and add a dose of intention-setting (yes, sometimes with crystals, affirmations, or a handwritten note tucked in a drawer), I can help our clients shift their space and their state of being.
I recall a time when our clients were trying to get pregnant and wanted to redesign their primary suite. I noted a beam above the bed, literally cutting the bed in half. They already had two kids with no issues so they could not figure out the reason they were having so much trouble.
The symbolic nature of this told me to move the location of the bed as it was splitting them apart energetically. I did not tell the clients my rationale for the new layout, but they signed off on our drawings. We relocated the existing furnishings to give them a sense of the new layout and within a month, they were expecting!
If your business is lagging, or you are just ready to amplify your growth and profits, your home office can be optimized to support clarity, confidence, and abundance.
I’ve seen it time and again: when we align our surroundings with our goals, things start to shift. Doors open. Energy flows. And yes—magic happens.
So if your home or workspace feels “off,” stagnant, or just not quite you, it might be time to look beyond the surface. Applying Feng Shui principles, a dash of design, and a whole lot of intention, your space can become a powerful partner in creating the life you’re meant to live.
